The F-16 Fighting Falcon started out as a lightweight basic fighter aircraft. It has evolved into refined multi-roll combat fight jet.
The F-16 has two General Electric GE turbofan jet engines with 23,000 lbs of thrust.
It can take off with a maximum weight of 43,300 lbs. This includes one internal 20 mm cannon and an ordinance capacity of 15,000 lbs. It has one fuselage pylon and extra six under-wing pylon stations.
With a maximum speed of 915 mph and a combat range of 340 miles makes the F-16 a formidable combat-ready fighter jet. The F-16 can refuel in flight from an upper fuselage receptacle. It can take on fuel from any tanker with the flying boom refueling capability.
